Online retail 2016 wasn’t painting a rosy picture till the recently concluded festive sales season. In the absence of discounts, customers seemed to be shopping less online and many sellers were suffering major setbacks.

The lull in the online shopping scenario made this year’s festive sales events a much-awaited period. Although they had to keep a check on discounts this year, the marketplace biggies like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon left no stone unturned to ensure customers were dazzled with the deals and offers being rolled out. Media ads were back and everyone claimed skyrocketing sales.
