‘Sellers Club’ launched by ShopClues to build its online seller community

Whether it was raising capital, creating an expensive advertising campaign or simply building its warehouse capacity, ShopClues has had a really eventful 12 months. The online marketplace has also come forward in expressing its ambitions to increase its Gross Merchandise Value, with the eventual goal of breaking even and turning profitable, in which the ongoing festival season has added to its progress.

Keeping all these initiatives in mind, ShopClues has never been short of enhancing its sellers experience. It recently launched a talent hunt competition called ‘Next Big E-preneur’ to harness innovation and also released a chat feature to connect the buyer to the seller.

ShopClues has now set up a ‘Sellers Club’ online forum for its ever expanding list of merchants, so that they can derive inspiration from each other. It aims to serve as a fountain of knowledge for sellers to tap their counterparts in times of need or share in their success stories, by simply responding to a query or creating a new discussion on the interactive forum.

Sellers can request information on the following:

  • Starting and building an e-store
  • Uploading product images
  • Adding to the inventory catalogue
  • Fulfilling orders successfully
  • How the payment cycle works

“Merchants often need help and support from experts and others in their community on the best ways to leverage the ShopClues platform and tap into the unlimited market potential that e-commerce in India offers. With the Sellers Club, we wish to create a space where sellers can interact with their peers in the trade and support and guide each other so that together the ShopClues merchant community can grow to become the most robust and successful seller base in the country,” said Radhika Aggarwal, Co-founder and CBO, ShopClues.

For the financial year 2014/15, ShopClues reported its revenue figure to be Rs. 79.2 crores which is higher than the previous years figure of Rs. 31.6 crores. On the other side of the coin, ShopClues made a loss of Rs.101 this year compared to 38 crores last year.
