The popular Russian eCommerce platform has recently expanded worldwide by establishing its sources in China and Turkey. Now, Ozon is planning the course of its direction toward India to maintain consistent growth by giving a chance to entrepreneurs for selling products in Russia through this platform.
The CEO of Ozon, Stepan Gusamov, has recently stated that online shopping is taking over traditional retail growth as eCommerce growth is rapidly increasing globally. He also said the number of Russian sellers in this market doubled last year, and the eCommerce market growth increased by 52%.
As Russia is currently ranking in the 12th position in eCommerce sales globally, they expect much more growth with the idea of initiating Ozan in India too. And as India is yet to enter the top 10 eCommerce markets globally, it’s a better initiative towards market growth.
Even the Ozon is topping the local marketplaces by starting its establishments in Belarus and Kazakhstan and developing its logistics. The CEO of Ozon also stated that they are ready for further expansion and looking for partnership opportunities with the countries India, Japan, and China.
The sellers of these countries will have a chance to reach their expectations by selling their products in different categories like beauty, decor, clothing, and more through this Russian eCommerce platform. Already China has more than 10000 of its sellers doing business with Russian customers and accounts for 95% of the sales through the cross-border sales unit as Chinese products have higher demand in Russia.
