eBay tells sellers to expect payment delays

Just two weeks ago, IOS reported that eBay had been withholding seller payments on account of GST requirements. Now, the etailer has informed sellers yet again that it will be holding back seller dues.

eBay Private Limited recently informed sellers that on account of Flipkart taking over eBay, from 1st August 2017, the former will be the new contracting entity for all seller transactions on the www.ebay.in website.

What’s causing the delay?

“We are in the process of updating our banking and remittance processes which changes are consequent to the change of ownership and therefore can be implemented only after August 1, 2017. Due to these changes necessitated by the change of ownership, it is likely that you may experience a delay in receiving remittance for your transactions on www.ebay.in,” the etailer said to sellers in its email notice.

When can you expect payment?

The online retail platform stated that regular payment cycles will be reinstated at the earliest. However, remittances scheduled for between 1st August 2017 to 7th August 2017 may be delayed.
