Snapdeal revamping site, new look to be revealed tomorrow

Snapdeal is all set to reveal a new look for its platform, on Wednesday night or Thursday morning as per reports. This new look had been underway for around 8-10 weeks considering feedback from more than 5000 Snapdeal employees.
The user-friendly and simplified version will have fewer distractions from ads and colours, and focus on visuals and product information. In addition to the website, the app had also been redesigned which would be available for Android and iOS users.
Why the change now?
Instead of spending to acquire more customers, Snapdeal believes in upgrading product from time to time to introduce enhancements. The current change will also include rebooting search page in terms of sorting and filtering. It is also looking at leveraging on regional languages and integrating its recently acquired apps like Freecharge, Exclusively.in and RupeePower.
But this is not an indication that Snapdeal would follow Myntra’s footsteps and become mobile-only. The ecommerce player is very clear on its intention to not forego its current 30% transactions from desktop site.
