Amazon Launches Kisan Store, Online Marketplace for All Agricultural Needs

Amazon notices India has a much more accessible market than China. By doubling the operations in India, Amazon is trying to make the region much more significant. The recent launch of the Kisan store is evident for this. 

Kisan Store is an online platform where farmers can shop for agricultural gear, including seeds, farm tools and accessories, plant protection, nutrition, and more. All these products are available at affordable prices as they are listed by the small and medium businesses and can be delivered to farmers' doorstep. 

Beginning of The New Revolution

Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, launched Amazon's Kisan Store. He commented these platforms are boon to the farmers as they improve quality and productivity. This launch is a good initiative of Amazon in making the Indian Farmers engage with the modern era of the digital world. 

The farmers can shop for their farming needs online on Amazon. in and they will be delivered to their doorstep. The payment options available on Kisan store are - Cash on Delivery, Net Banking, UPI, Amazon Pay, debit and credit cards. Farmers can shop on this store in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. 

Amazon provides online shopping assistance to farmers through Amazon Easy Store. Farmers can visit the stores and get help regarding account creation, order placement, and checkout. This creates trust and helps thousands of farmers step into online shopping.

This latest move of Amazon improves its customer base and is also in sync with India's vision to digitalize the agricultural sector. Recently, with the initiative of empowering Weavers, and Artisans, Amazon has partnered with the Textile Ministry. This way, Amazing is turning India Digital from every potential sector.

Amit Agarwal, Global Senior VP and Country Head of Amazon India added that this store will empower the farmer community and create an ecosystem enabling them to place the seamless orders delivered to their doorsteps.

SMB's Pathway for Success

The launch of Kisan Store paved the way for many businesses selling farming products to come online. Recently, Amazon has launched Digital Kendra to empower MSMEs and help Indian businesses with ecommerce. Amazon has invested $1 billion investment to set up digital centres in 100 cities and villages across India. The proposed digital centres are expected to drive over 10 million SMBs online.

1 million local offline retailers are expected to come online through Local Shops on Amazon by 2025.
