Mobile Advertising network InMobi has formed a strategic alliance with multinational computer technology company Dell.
This is technology collaboration where Dell will help InMobi to set up its own ecommerce platform.
Dell’s founder and CEO, Michael Dell was on a 2 day visit to India and that’ s when he met InMobi’s founder Naveen Tiwari and sealed the deal.
Alok Ohrie, MD, Dell- India spoke about the alliance, “We’ve enjoyed a very strong relationship with InMobi for a few years now — we, as a company, are very aligned to early engagements with startups and entrepreneurial initiatives and how we can add value to some of these new businesses that have come up.”
Appreciating Dell’s foresightedness, InMobi’s CTO, Mohit Saxena said, “We’ve always been looking for a partner who can invest early and see the bigger picture on where it can head to, and I think Dell was very aggressive in that sense
So far, in the ecommerce industry, we have seen strategic alliances/acquisitions between companies similar in nature like Flipkart–Myntra or supporting ventures such as ecommerce entities and banks, where the benefits are obvious.
In Dell-InMobi case, not only it is one-of-a-kind but also speaks volumes about the potential of ecommerce industry, as many reputable brands are moving toward ecommerce/m-commerce platforms to stay ahead and relevant.
Another applause-worthy fact that this alliance highlights is few companies’ (like Dell & InMobi) ability to think far ahead, use each other’s strength in an innovative way, explore the booming ecommerce industry and be ready for the future needs.
