After the Agri store, it’s grocery on the cards for Snapdeal. Looks like the homegrown ecommerce player is leaving no stone unturned to have as many product categories as possible in its kitty.

Snapdeal has tied up with Godrej Nature’s Basket to start its grocery vertical. The online platform will be used to offer the grocery’s products to areas that Snapdeal caters to.

Nature’s Basket from the Godrej group started operations about two years back with its presence in five cities currently. It also offers same day deliveries to customers from these cities. A number of products are offered like international cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, ice creams, bakery items, frozen food items etc.

Potential of Online Grocery in India

No doubt, online grocery is a top grossing product category in India with many players like BigBasket, LocalBanya, AaramShop etc. With more disposable income and lesser time in hand in the metros and smaller cities, people have warmed up to the idea of buying even grocery online mainly due to the convenience and ease it offers.
