Recently, Amazon India stated that more than 70000 small and medium sellers had sold goods worth $3 billion to foreign buyers on this platform. This has been made possible because of Amazon's export-focused global selling program that started in 2015. Amazon India also said that this platform has helped in making MSMEs in making the businesses digitized. More than 2.5 million MSMEs have been digitized because of which nearly 1 million jobs in the country have been created to date.

With this Global Selling program of Amazon, nearly 70,000 India-based sellers have reached 17 international markets. A strong demand was witnessed for different products such as healthcare products, jewelry, leather, and many more.

Registration with this Amazon global selling program will allow the exporters to access international websites and marketplace that are already on this platform.   Amit Agarwal said- "As we are constantly working with small and medium businesses, we are committed to bringing innovation, technology and new tools for boosting the entrepreneurial spirit of businesses in the Indian market. We are also helping create jobs to contribute to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

In January 2020, Amazon.com Inc.'s chief Jeff Bezos visited India. During his visit, he said- that his company would be investing $1 billion at the inaugural of 'Smbhav Summit' to digitize MSMEs in India. He has also expected a tremendous increase in the export of Indian-made goods by 2025 worth $10 billion.

Amazon India also said that the MSMEs working with this platform in the country are more than 2.5 million. This includes weavers, sellers, and many artisans that are focusing on easy and simplified online selling for businesses. As per the report, Amazon India has added approximately 250,000 new sellers since January 2020. Apart from this, for the convenience of people from different languages, seller registration and account management services have been launched for Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, and Kannada.

"Last year was quite challenging because of the pandemic, but the speed of digitization got accelerated. The good part is that e-commerce plays an important role in the economic strength of the country, and it will help in the country's economic recovery --said Amit Agarwal, global senior vice president and country head of Amazon India.
