CAIT to Convene a National Conference on eCommerce Policy Fundamentals


The Conference of All India Traders (CAIT) is holding a national conference discussing the fundamentals of drafting an eCommerce policy that will bring unanimity among its stakeholders and recommend the central government.
The conference will be oragnized in New Delhi, where the CAIT has invited offline and online stakeholders of the eCommerce trades in the country. Trade associations including India Cellular & Electronics Association, All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation, All India Mobile Retailers Association, National Restaurants Association of India, All India Jewelers & Goldsmith Federation, All India Transport Welfare Association, and Computer Media Dealers Association have co-hosted the event besides the CAIT.
Speaking on the event, B.C. Bhartia, National President, and Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary-General of CAIT, said, “ the conference will provide a platform to discuss in a fair, accessible, and unbiased environment on all the related issues of e-Commerce transparency while offering the uninterrupted opportunity to all stakeholders. “
According to the organizer, the event will be based on a hybrid model where all participants will attend the conference online and offline. Recently, CAIT demanded regulatory authority for online retailers. The CAIT even has asked stakeholders dealing in the supply of goods or providing services through any chosen digital modes.
