Limeroad takes initiative to promote Madhya Pradesh handicraft & handloom goods online

It appears that Limeroad is looking to power up its ethnic category with the help of the local handloom products from Madhya Pradesh. The online retail platform recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam.

According to the MoU, the ecommerce company will be selling handicrafts and handlooms prepared by locals from the state. Limeroad signed the MoU at the National Vendor Development program and MSME Convention 2016. The convention was hosted by the Department of MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh and Government of India.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh tweeted his and the state’s appreciation of this partnership. He sent out the following tweet,

We are honoured to partner with the Madhya Pradesh (MP) Govt. and we welcome the talented artisans of MP on to our platform. The Limeroad Mobile App will now take these unique assets of India to millions of customers, and make these products from Traditional to Trending.”

The company mentioned in its statement that it has already begun selling a range of apparel and handicraft goods on their platform, from the Nigam.

Limeroad’s not the only forming partnerships for handlooms

Craftsvilla recently partnered with Co-optex to support Tamil Nadu Handlooms & boost its product range. The ethnic etailer plans on rising to the top and taking local ethnic goods producers to the top with it. In addition to ethnic clothing, the platform also offers ethnic snacks and sweets and sweets.
