Flipkart to allow national shipping for specified verticals

Shipping is a vital part of ecommerce it is what makes online retail functional. It is required to sell within your locality and all across India as well. To broaden the scope of national level selling, Flipkart will now enable national shipping of a new range of verticals. The following verticals were mentioned in the email sent out on 23rd August 2016, to make Flipkart sellers aware of the change.

According to Flipkart’s email announcement, national shipping for these new verticals will start from next week. The team went on to specify that national shipping of these verticals has potential for a significant rise in sales. At the same time sellers need to note, national orders incur higher shipping charges compared to local and zonal shipping.

The Indian etailer advises online sellers to check the impact the shipping charges will have on their payout and accordingly adjust product pricing. To do so sellers need to head to their listings and select the settlement value calculator. This way they can calculate if the shipping charges will result in losses for their business. Sellers can check the new shipping charge rate card for different zones on the seller panel.
