According to a report recently published by Assocham of India, Indian ecommerce is expected nudge an annual growth rate of 35% with an estimated value to hit USD 100-billion mark in next five years.

GoDaddy India and Australia Vice President Rajiv Sodhi resonated the same theme by looking to use the Indian ecommerce market as their bedrock in their goal of further global expansion in years to come. He further quoted that the global tech firm that entered the Indian ecommerce market in 2012, realize the huge potential of the Indian e-market with over 300 million users accessing the internet and approximately 39 million of them already engaged in shopping online which represents a compelling business opportunity for the renowned firm.

SMEs and Their Potential in Indian Online Retail

With the retail biggies in organized sector flexing their wings internationally for collaborations to bring in and introduce world known brands in the country and marketing aggressively, SMEs are focussing more on home-grown brands and are relying on building a loyal customer through their customized assortment, personalized services and most importantly passionate and friendly approach instead of portraying hardcore professionalism as is usually exhibited by the retail giants.

With the Indian SME belt having a fairly broader presence and a value-oriented and dedicated approach, even with all their limitations, they are giving the larger enterprises a good run for their money by growing at a overwhelmingly higher rate.
