Flipkart launches Home Category, attempt at higher margins?

In its efforts to get into new avenues to increase margins, Flipkart has launched the home category.
More than 5 lakh products across 1000 brands will be offered as décor, lighting, household items and so on. Artisans and sellers with contemporary and ethnic collection will also be able to sell under these categories.
Ankit Nagori, SVP- Marketplace, Flipkart said, “Currently the online home market stands at Rs.1400 crore – and this is one of the categories that has a lot of potential, but has been largely untapped by e-commerce players.”
