All those who were wondering how more profitable ecommerce could get, listen up!

If reports are to be believed, Amazon India is already leading the ecommerce growth wave, which is reflected in its aggressive scouting for larger office space in Bengaluru. Apparently, the giant wants to lease out a massive 1.3 million square feet area for their office. In fact, this deal is considered one of the biggest office space deals after Flipkart and Wells Fargo.

Massive funds, massive growth for Amazon

We have also heard that Amazon’s aggressive growth in India will be fuelled by the impressive Rs 1,155 crore to build its presence in India, right after it raised Rs 610 crore.  An Amazon India spokesperson explained the strategy behind it all, “We continue to invest in infrastructure and logistics, to enable our sellers to service customers across the country at low operating costs; and in technology, especially mobile, to enable easy, anywhere, anytime access for our customers and sellers.”

Snapdeal catching up

Snapdeal is also not far behind in the competitive race. According to sources, Jasper Infotech that owns Snapdeal, is aiming for a valuation of $5 billion (Rs 30,000 crore) in this latest round.

This clearly indicates the growth of ecommerce not only in the online retail business, but also in creating dynamic employment opportunities.
