Is Dhamaal.com shutting down?

In an email to registered sellers, the Dhamaal.com team has informed that their operations would be suspended with immediate effect. While the exact reason for this action has not been mentioned, they have said that it has to be done due to reasons beyond their control.

The email is to be treated as a notice to terminate the service agreement and all the stores would be un-published in a while. Dhamaal.com has requested sellers to dispatch pending orders and the payments for the same would be remitted as per the normal payment cycle.

About Dhamaal.com

Dhamaal.com was launched in Aug 2013 by payment gateway, CCAvenue and Infibeam’s Buildabazaar as a medium for merchants to sell and promote their products.

“At CCAvenue, we have more than 15,000 merchants from across the country that include those from tier II and III cities. These sellers do not have a platform to sell their products or promote their business; so they still remain unknown. Dhamaal.com is a solution for them. By listing their products on our platform, merchants get a medium to promote their brands,” said a company spokesperson last year after the launch.

Although the exact reason for shutting down the platform is yet to be spelled out, sudden shutdown only points to one reason – lack of funds to operate. So while some like Yepme are in talks to secure funding, others like Dhamaal.com seem to have no such luck.
