Flipkart to roll out online brand stores

Flipkart plans to tie-up with well-known and in-demand brands to operate dedicated online stores, which would be operated as subsets of Flipkart’s main portal. This is a strategy to tap into the brand-conscious younger consumers (mostly in the age group 20-27) and also consumers from tier 2 and 3 cities.
Although these co-developed stores would be officially launched in the next 2-3 months only, the Flipkart site already has a recently launched Puma store which could be a pilot project to check customer response. It stores only Puma products and its style reflects Puma’s image as a premium brand. Deals and discounts are displayed in the ‘featured picks’ seen lower down on the virtual store, whereas good deals are highlighted in the main Flipkart store.
Co-developed with brands, these brand stores will be chosen by the Flipkart team depending on strong brand loyalists who want to buy the products of the brands.
Opportunity for Indian Online Seller with Flipkart’s online brand stores
Flipkart’s reach will allow brands to access its wide customer base which might not be possible, or may take time, with their own virtual stores. So if you own a brand or deal with a brand and want to avoid the hassles of setting up your own virtual store, join with Flipkart to gain instant access to its seller benefits and wide customer base.
