Amazon India has launched Health and Personal Care store on its marketplace today. Just three weeks after the launch of its Sports, Fitness & Outdoors store, this shows Amazon’s aggressive expansion and deeper plunge into the Indian ecommerce market. The rapid pace of growth of Amazon is testimony to its success and popularity with the Indian online shoppers.
The health and personal care store will offer more than 4500 products:
- Sports & family nutritional products like everyday dietary supplements, health drinks, multivitamins etc.
- Healthcare products like glucose monitors, contraceptives, ayurvedic remedies etc.
- Personal care products like razors, shaving foams, toothbrushes, hand sanitizers etc.
- Orthopedic support and rehabilitation products like walkers, arm slings, cervical collars, lumbar supports, knee braces etc.
Specialised nutritional products like sports nutrition and supplements which are used by body builders, professional athletes and sportspersons are not available in the mini-metros and mini-towns. Amazon aims to bridge this gap by making these products available on its store. Consumers from anywhere in India can now buy products from a choice of more than 150 products of globally renowned brands like Optimum Nutrition, Nature’s Bounty, Nestle, Horlicks, Nature’s Best, Gillette, McDavid, Colgate, Oral-B, Dettol etc.
Amazon’s rising popularity in India
Three weeks back, Amazon launched its sports and fitness store in India. Since then, it has added more than 15,000 products eligible for next-day delivery. More than 180,000 products in the fulfillment by Amazon category are also available for next day delivery across hundreds of pin codes in India, catering to more than half of the customer demand.
After the introduction of FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon), over 75% of products are shipped under FBA. Realising the benefits of shipping fast and efficiently to customers, more sellers are opting for FBA. Amazon takes care of the probable hassles like warehousing, delivery, returns and customer services which gives sellers ample time to concentrate on their core business.
