Snapdeal’s NEW Seller Rating mechanism

Effective from 16th April 2014, sellers on Snapdeal will be rated on new criteria to determine their Seller Rating.

What is Seller Rating?

Seller Rating is a strong indicator of product quality and service levels to customers. Customers rate sellers based on their purchasing experience which includes timely delivery of product, customer service and good quality products. This helps other customers to decide on making purchases as also gauge the credibility of sellers.

Snapdeal’s New Rating Mechanism

New ratings of sellers on Snapdeal will be calculated on the basis of the following:

1. Order Perfection Score– indicates the number of orders shipped and delivered to customers without any issues or complaints.
2. Faster Shipping– indicates how fast orders are dispatched to customers. Orders dispatched in 1 day, 2 days, 3 days and more than 3 days will reflect accordingly.

Order Perfection Score

The following issues will affect seller ratings and hamper positive score:

• Out of stock

• Not shipped within the appropriate time

• Delivery of wrong product

• No invoice

• Freebies advertised with the product not received

• Warranty card is missing

• Faulty or damaged product

• Used product delivered

• Poor packing

• Doesn’t match description on the site

• Poor quality of product

If any false complaint is found, Snapdeal will remove it from the seller’s record.

Faster Shipping

The default stipulated time (ST) in most cases is 1 day, with exceptions made for imported products or special cases.. The following weightage are given according to when orders are dispatched:

• Within ST – 1

• ST + 1 – 0.5

• ST + 2 – 0.25

• Fourth day onwards – 0

Weightage of 0 is also given if order is moved to an alternate seller due to non-availability of product.

Time period will impact rating

To give more opportunity to sellers for improvement, latest time period is given more weightage. Time period is as below:

1. First 5 days (counted backwards from rating calculation date): Not considered
   
2. 6 – 20 days: Highest weightage
3. 21 – 35 days: 6-20 days
4. 36 – 50 days: Least weightage

Visibility of seller rating

Irrespective of orders processed, seller rating will be calculated and displayed on the website for all sellers.

Although it will get effective immediately, sellers have the opportunity and motivation to fine tune their operations to ensure timely delivery of quality products to their customers. Maximum customer satisfaction will ensure maximum ratings, which in turn will attract more customers.
