Amazon To Open 2nd Fulfillment Center At Bangalore

Amazon India is planning to open its second fulfillment center in the country. This new fulfillment center will be located in Bangalore. Amazon India already operates one center in Bhiwandi, Mumbai. The Bangalore center is scheduled to become operational in the month of February.

Amazon India stocks products that bear the ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ tag on the products listed on its website. It takes care of the shipping and also offers customers free delivery promotions, Cash on Delivery and Guaranteed Next Day delivery. Online merchants who want to list their products on Amazon under the ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ tag will have to ship their products to its fulfillment center, where the company stocks, organizes and ships out these products to customers.

The big advantage of the Bangalore Fulfillment Center is that now online sellers from South India will get easier access to Amazon India’s operations. This means that there will be lesser shipping fees for South Indian retailers who send their products to the new center. It will also mean that products can be stocked faster and the whole delivery chain to end customers will be faster. Customers will also share in the advantage of faster deliveries and larger inventory under the FBA tag.
