Fashion etailer, Myntra managed profitability for its private label business not so long ago. During its EORS sale in June 2017, it recorded 56% sales growth. The ecommerce company is now looking to replicate similar success while participating in Flipkart’s Big Billion Days (BBD) sale.
During the iconic 5 day sale, Myntra expects to sell three million products for a 5x increase in its sales compared to everyday sales.
The chief revenue officer at Myntra, Naresh Krishnaswamy said, “We are participating in Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale for third year in a row and are expecting a five times growth in sales. We are offering our customers the season’s latest collection at attractive prices, making it an event that cannot be given a miss. We are expecting to sell three million products over the five-day sale.”
BBD details
The BBD sale is scheduled for September 20th to 24th. This year, Myntra’s sister company will also participate in BBD as Flipkart aims to increase overall 2.5x to 3x sales increase this year, which will translate to total sales of $1.5 billion.
Myntra’s parent company aims to use this mega sale to recover battle ground lost to Amazon. The US-based online marketplace claims to be the market leader on account of its rising sales. It has expanded its logistics, hired 22,000 additional staff to cater to excess festive season demand.
