Amazon reveals top selling sub-categories of last Diwali sales period

With each day the peak season of Indian online retail gets nearer. Online marketplaces are making sure no effort is spared this time round. Just a couple of days ago, Indian Online Seller reported on Amazon’s seller grooming camps.

The motive behind these camps is to better prepare online sellers for this festive season sales. But their efforts to make the most of the season don’t end with that. The etailer is also providing tips to online sellers via email to ready themselves.

Amazon says, “Add products in top selling categories during Diwali”

The etailer recently tipped online sellers saying, they need to add top selling categories during the Diwali period. To help sellers identify which products in their categories have the highest demand, Amazon is revealing last Diwali’s sales information.

Amazon is now providing sellers with lists of the top selling sub-categories within their category during the Diwali period in 2015. This information will assist online sellers in accurately identifying which of their sub-categories got the best sales figures the last time.

Here are a few product categories that will be hot this festive season:

  • Casuals
  • Formal and Dress
  • Boots
  • Sandals
  • Flip flops
  • Totes
  • Clutches
  • Sports Fashion
  • Women’s small leather goods

For those who don’t sell these high demand products, they can accordingly plan an expansion of their product range in these categories. Sellers can also adjust their pricing accordingly to attract more sales. Product price competitiveness can be easily checked with other sellers in the same category through Amazon’s Pricing Dashboard on Seller Central.
