Amazon rolls out India’s largest ecommerce furniture store

The furniture and home decor category is estimated to be worth $25 billion, which makes it a prosperous market for online players.

With Diwali fast approaching, Amazon has maintained its festive spirit by launching the furniture category on its platform, which will take on ecommerce furniture portals such as Pepperfry and Urban Ladder. It will also compete with rival marketplaces like Flipkart, who recently got in on the act. Amazon’s furniture category is reported to be the largest online furniture store in India with over 25,000 products available, which includes premium brands for buyers to select from.

Assisting customers

To ensure customers select the correct furniture to suit their households, Amazon has provided information such as the height, width and length of the furniture along with supporting photos from various angles. This is available on the product detail page.

The ecommerce global giant will also provide step-by-step instructional guides and videos which have been created with the feedback of sellers, to assist the customer to install the furniture successfully. Furniture care assistance has also been included to ensure the product is long lasting.
