Another Snapdeal blunder: Customer receives stone instead of Samsung phone!

Snapdeal has been in the news lately for a lot of reasons. Signing on Amir Khan as the brand ambassador, acquiring Freecharge to become India’s biggest m-commerce company, partnering with IPL, and even extending its platform to real estate. Amidst all this, Snapdeal also announced that it doesn’t need funds anymore.

But there always has to be a flip side in the real world as we know it. Apparently, Snapdeal is being negligent and irresponsible again. A customer Vivek Manhas has received a stone instead of a Samsung Galaxy Grand Max worth Rs 14,990. Imagine his shock when he opened the box to find a stone instead of the phone.

He called the Customer Care immediately to report the issue and he was told that he’s receive a call from an excecutive in 30 minutes. No surprises here, but he didn’t receive any call, following which he called the Customer Care number again and blasted them, “I do not need your products anymore and my refund should be made immediately.”

He got the refund in two hours!

Not the first time!

Snapdeal’s delivery blunders are not new. Earlier this year, a customer received a soap bar instead of a Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos phone. Also, another customer was delivered with two pieces of wood for his order of 2 Apple iPhone 4S.

Customer will of course get agitated and stay away from Snapdeal. Not to mention the negative reviews they’d be sharing with other potential customers. We know the importance of customer reviews in influencing other customers’ buying behavior.

If Snapdeal really wants to get into the good books of customers, isn’t it time they took strict actions against such malpractices? Shouldn’t marketplaces ensure these don’t happen at any cost? After all, it’s their reputation at stake!
