Ecommerce mobile apps – most downloaded
2014 saw the exponential growth of online retail mainly due to the convenience factor for consumers. In addition to laptops and desktops, shopping via tablets and smartphones rose in popularity as people could shop anytime anywhere even while on the move. The increase in internet penetration only added to this.
So it’s no surprise that mobile apps of ecommerce companies are now the most popular ones in India, hence the most downloaded. According to numbers reported by FreePaisa (reward application), we get the following numbers:
- 55% of 850,000 app downloads are related to online shopping.
- Most downloaded brands were Jabong, Flipkart, PayTM and Makemytrip.
- Users from these states downloaded the most (in the order mentioned) – Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka.
