Homegrown etailer Snapdeal has launched its latest offering, ‘Agri store’ to reach out to farmers and make them also go online for their shopping. The section will cater to multiple requirements of farmers like seeds, fertilizer, irrigation tools etc.
Also, in keeping with the trend of understanding consumer requirement, a Hindi version of the store will also be launched to enable farmers to understand the products and make informed decisions about their purchases.
Elaborating on the launch, Kunal Bahl, CEO and co-founder of Snapdeal said, “Agriculture is a primary sector in India, with 70% of the population engaged in this sector. With The Agri Store we want to extend our mission of creating life-changing experiences for buyers and sellers to farmers of our country. Now, farmers will be able to access products critical to their daily needs easily at the click of a button, this bringing forth the inclusive power of digital marketplaces in the realm of agriculture as well. The Agri Store provides access to a wide variety of products from seeds to fertilizers, farming tools and irrigation tools. With the store also accessible through mobile phones we are positive that farmers will find this a convenient and efficient way to shop.”
Going forward, Snapdeal plans to add more products to the store from vendors across the country so that farmers can see the platform as a one-stop destination for all their farming requirements, with good quality products and reliable service.
