Ebay India Launches Microsite to Sell Exclusive Sachin Memorabilia

Sachin Tendulkar has had a glorious innings since his debut in the world of International Cricket as a 16 year old. Now as he plays his final match, the world will see the Master Blaster on the pitch for the last time. As a nod to the great cricketer, Ebay India has launched a microsite which will sell Sachin memorabilia. These include books, caps, miniature bats, mobile cases, posters and limited edition Sachin silver coins.
The company has also launched a dedicated social media promotion called Ticket To Meet Sachin and will be giving Sachin fans a chance to meet the legend in person.
Deepa Thomas, Ebay India’s e-commerce evangelist spoke about the company’s efforts,

As you might very well know Cricket is religion in the country and Sachin has been accorded the status of a God. The marketing strategy formulated by Ebay India will have many takers and is very likely to succeed in interesting Sachin fans to buy these special products. This is an important marketing lesson for all sellers out there. Special promotions like these have to be timed perfectly for them to work. In this case, Ebay India is rightly tapping into his fanbase and offering a proposition of great value to them.
