Advertising on online marketplaces is essential for building a brand and boosting sales. Marketplace ads make consumers aware of seller products and merchandise with the best offers. It makes product distinguishing and brand recognition possible.
Snapdeal launched a new advertising platform, Snapdeal Ads, in May. It helps sellers boost brand visibility and instantly calculate results. This same platform now offers a new feature called ‘Recurring Campaigns’ or the ‘Auto Top-up feature’. Snapdeal notified sellers about this facility over email.
Recurring campaigns allow sellers to run uninterrupted ad campaigns. This makes it a continuous form of advertising. For these campaigns, the budget amount is replenished automatically, on a weekly basis.
Snapdeal automatically debits money from the seller’s COD balance and allocates it to the campaign budget. The automatic replenishing of funds results in a recurring campaign that never stops unless paused or deleted by the seller.
Recurring campaigns spend an allocated amount each week. So, if the campaign budget is Rs. 5,000, this same amount will be spent every week.
A minimum of Rs. 5,000 is required to start any ad campaign. Sellers can use maximum 50% of their COD balance to set up a recurring campaign. In this case, the COD balance maintained should be equal to at least Rs. 10,000.
Snapdeal gives its sellers full control over recurring campaigns. Sellers can pause the campaign at any point of time. This will end the auto-debit feature that keeps the campaign running.
Recurring campaigns are available only to a certain category of online sellers. To be included in this category one must meet the following criteria:
Step #1 – The seller must log into the Snapdeal seller panel and go to the recurring campaign option on the right-hand side, as illustrated in the image and click the ‘Setup Recurring Campaign’ button to start.

Step #3 – Next he must enter his budget for each category. The minimum requirement for each weekly budget is Rs. 5,000. After clicking the proceed button, the campaign will be created.
Step #4 – The next screen will display the total spends per week. This screen shows the number of categories the seller has selected to advertise. So if all five categories are selected and the budget for each is maintained at Rs. 5,000, the seller must pay 5 x 5,000 = 25,000.
There is also a service tax of 15% that Snapdeal will charge adding to the total spends for the campaign.

After creating the ad campaign, the seller will be shown an ad setup summery. It will include the amount debited from the COD balance. The individual campaigns ad their budgets will be on display for easy management as and when required.
