The great news is that the ecommerce world is also becoming empowered through what Microsoft has to offer, with the likes of Snapdeal, Paytm and Justdial biting the bait. It can be remembered Microsoft first flirted with the idea of jumping into the Indian ecommerce space 12 months ago.
"Cloud and mobile technologies are already galvanising Indian industry. We will demonstrate that technology in the hands of brilliant people can create magic," remarked Bhaskar Pramanik, chairman, Microsoft India.

According to reports, Justdial and Microsoft will collaborate to improve customer satisfaction by using cloud-based analytics and Bing.

Eyeing a $2 Billion Gross Merchandise Value from the category, Snapdeal launched its exclusive automobile platform this week. It is now looking to create a digital automotive dealership by using the Microsoft cloud platform, to facilitate customers automotive purchasing choices.
In all the technology jargon and strategic associations, start-ups have not been left behind. To assist Indian smart cities, Microsoft is offering up to R. 80 Lakh worth of Azure computing to help conduct pilot projects for digital solutions, which is sure to put the recipients of the scheme on cloud nine.
"Cities can also apply for access to these services and solutions on Azure through a new portal which connects start-ups with cities and their needs. This initiative is anticipated to impact over 50 smart cities in the next year through a catalogue of over 50 start-ups and ISV solutions," the company added.
