In the scout for sellers and making them sign up on the platforms, online marketplaces are going all out to woo and assist them into jumping on the ecommerce bandwagon. Last month, we heard of Paytm’s efforts to assist sellers in starting online operations.
Ecommerce giant Flipkart has announced its latest service for sellers who want to start selling online, Flipkart One Stop or F1 Stop, to help them with basic support services like:
Small enterprises form 90% of Flipkart’s merchant base. With the above services, a first time seller will be able to get through the nuances of online selling without taking a wrong step or keep searching for someone to assist with these basic tasks.
Currently to be prevalent in 10 cities, the ecommerce portal aims to extend it to almost 20 cities by the end of 2015.
Ankit Nagori, Chief Business Officer, assures that the service providers they tie up with for these services would be first verified and approved by Flipkart. “This kind of seller support, or consultancy services, will help sellers who are mainly operating in the offline world and want to quickly come online,” added Nagori.
This is a step towards increasing the merchant base on Flipkart from 30,000 to 1,00,00 before 2016. It has currently tied up with companies like Browntape, SellerWorks, 99Years, Blubox, among others, and plans to add 50-60 agencies as partners in this initiative eventually.
