Flipkart announces Big Billion Day 2: Who’s looking forward to it?

When it comes to bouncing back, there is a lot that one can learn from India’s homegrown etailer Flipkart. The Big Billion Day last year was announced and marketed with much gusto, but what happened after that we all know.

However, the ecommerce giant handled all the negative comments with grace and released an apology letter right away. And it bounced back to being the customer favourite in just a few days.

Apparently, Big Billion Day 2 is on the way this year to undo the bloopers of last year. As an answer to all the criticism and allegations last year, Flipkart has announced Big Billion Day 2, all set to enhance customer satisfaction this time around.

According to Mukesh Bansal, chief executive of commerce at Flipkart, “We are again going to plan our Big Billion Day this year and for that support and scale is a big priority,” reports The Economic Times. “Infrastructure and data centre to support scale, dealing with the transformation to mobile, and incorporating social shopping will be focus areas,” added Bansal.

Despite the technical issues, Flipkart revealed that they had achieved $100 million sales in 10 hours and got 1 billion hits in just a few hours. Many questions were raised as to who actually gained from the sale, other vendors or just WS Retail. Everything certainly pointed towards WS Retail.

How will the Big Billion Day entertain us this year? Let’s see.
